Idk why, I’ve never liked the idea of body modification, but I feel like it could be interesting to exist without a body at all. Imagine just being a disembodied consciousness floating around.

I have tattoos over a number of scars but I never understood piercings and purposeful disfigurement.

I guess I don’t really understand earrings, not because I don’t understand why people want to wear ear rings, but they actually make ear rings that I guess either clip on or use magnets. So I don’t get why somebody would pierce a hole in their skin when they don’t need to. But nose rings I completely don’t understand. It’s uncomfortable to look at when somebody has a thing hanging out their nose.

Also I don’t get women who wear loop ear rings. Like, aesthetically, it’s not terrible or anything it’s fine. But functionally, if it were to get caught on something, I feel like it would tear your ear. Maybe it wouldn’t, but I kinda wonder about that. Or what if you get in a car accident if that in your ear?
