But if I was a general… I don’t care if it’s not strategically necessary, I would force the troops to cross a mountain range. Imagine that, a bunch of 18 year old boys Alabama on a snow capped mountain, descending down with their guns to do whatever. That never happened. But if it did happen, they’d make documentaries about that shit. I’d do it just to do it, maybe half of them die and we lose the war, don’t care. They’re gonna make a documentary about it because of how fucking cool it is to have the audacity to force people up a mountain for no reason.

Like yeah yeah, we have drones and helicopters and planes, who cares? Send them up a goddamn mountain. Just for the hell of it. They’re going to write books about that shit, "Why would he do that? The decision to send them up a mountain when the country they were at war with was in the opposite direction, that was so dumb." Maybe it was dumb, but they’re gonna write about it.
