Topic: It's a little funny to see business owners crying online about rising costs

> Shipping costs jumped 40% in the last couple days! I never thought this could happen. We'll have to shut down soon if this keeps up!
It's pretty strange how delayed the reaction always is to a crisis. We're about to start WW3 and some people are still acting like everything is going to be alright by next weekend. They never listen

Tbh I don’t think Japan would stand much of a chance in WWIII. They have a low birth rate, a tiny population compared to China, China, Russia, and North Korea all have nuclear weapons, Japan doesn’t, and Japan’s ally is the United States. Call me crazy but I don’t get the impression that Donald Trump likes Japanese people just based off the comments he’s made.

As a middle aged man with a sizable backyard I care not for WWW3 or rising food costs because I'm too old to be drafted and if I really needed to I can grow a fucktonne of potatoes to eat. Just thought you'd like to know. Thanks for asking.

It’s like, do the math. What’s the worst legal punishment the government can do to you? The death penalty. What happens if you get drafted? You die. So which laws are worth breaking. All of them?

Tbh I don’t know why middle aged people think they’re safe from a draft. Birth rates in the west are so low if the west actually wanted to do mass mobilization they’re going to run out of 18 year olds pretty fast.

And republicans might have this sexist thing against drafting women. We’re on a demographic cliff anyway because people stopped having as many children so the newer generation is smaller. Which means we’d run out of them faster. They’d probably be forced to become feminist in practice.

To expand on this point, Ukraine is more socially conservative so they banned men from leaning but they let women leave. Their population will probably never recover from the war because of that. The women won’t go back, because Ukraine is poor, if they do have children, there’s no reason why anybody would move from London to Kyiv, their children would have much greater opportunities in London or Berlin or Paris. Anyway, you’re not supposed to talk about this stuff, but they’re not going to recover from the war. This doesn’t mean I don’t support them, I’m just being real here.

Always with the drones these days. Modern war is so gay. Oh you spent 20 years of your life learning and growing? Whoops you didn't react fast enough to my super fast flying robot lol sorry

Tbh nobody likes the comparison, but South Africa and Ukraine have the same GDP per capita. So all the conservatives hating on Africa, it’s like you could get a similar standing of living in Africa.

Japan’s defense forces are solid but they’re not mass forces. Who is Japan going to mass conscript? The fit right wingers are a tiny few and they could turn out to be wannabes like Musashi. Imagine trying to conscript 2 million hikomori (shut ins). However if they built a mass of underground silos with missiles and long range drones it’s easier to train those forces from the gamers.

China and Japan both have low birth rates, but China is 10x the population of Japan. China’s demographics are such that they really shouldn’t have a mass mobilization war, but drafting a million people is drafting less than 0.1% of their population. And on top of that they have the biggest manufacturing base in the world and nuclear weapons. That’s a pretty serious combination.

It’s been heading this way since the 19th century when ranged artillery and canister shot became “a thing.” Look at the Charge of the Light Brigade. A heroic cavalry charge … into a funnel where they were bombarded on three sides.
Modern war reminds me of my meathead MMA cousin saying to one of my other uncles who warned him not to get in street fights, “how would you kick my ass?” My uncle looks at him: “I wouldn’t fight you. I’d shoot you in the back of the head while you open your front door.”

Before during World War Two, Japan was incredibly lucky in that since Japan was an island that had isolated itself, it wasn’t divided up by European powers, and it was lucky in that they had a strong central government under their emperor Meiji so he could make the top down decision to industrialize Japan and catch up to the west, meanwhile China death with the whole century of humiliation. The end result was Japan was much smaller but much more technologically advanced, so it didn’t matter. These days, if I was Japanese, I would strongly advocate for Japan withdrawing from the nuclear non-proliferation treaty.

To them it’s extremist probably, but if I was in charge of Japan right now, I’d drop all the conventional weapons and devote resources primarily to developing atomic weapons.

They’re definitely a war machine. But they don’t have any military experience. They’ve just developed force projection. They have an “only sons” military that’s going to lead to mass trauma and grief. It’s still not an easy sweep based on size and resources. They certainly have home court advantage in the Pacific. Plus, we should look more closely why China now only holds $618 billion in U.S. debt, down from $1.3 trillion a decade ago.

I agree. The islands don’t protect them like they did from Mongol invasions or even an easy U.S. landing. Missiles bridge the gap.

Japan also can produce HEU. They have a domestic enrichment capacity. I think the US wants to keep Japan dependent so we have an excuse to perpetually have military bases there.

come on bro you can't even react to a hypersonic missile? you're never going to be ready when the military finally reveals their demon portal magic tech and you have to fight actual demons just keep up bro come on just evolve faster bro
> I don’t think Americans would react more positively to a draft than Chinese people.
A draft would have ended Bush’s chances for a second term (boo hoo) so they used stop-loss and lowered standards to allow induction of felons and gang members. If the U.S. did a draft you’ll see the studies showing the dismal percentage of men who are eligible. They’d need remedial boot camps. Plus, unlike WWII when pilot training took 7-9 months, it’s 1.3-3 years today. Throw in the current issue that the U.S. already expended a third of its missiles on Iran and you see the problem. There probably would be some home guard raise as well to monitor critical infrastructure as China and friends try to fry the Internet and power grid. There’s no way you could reconstitute current forces and exquisite ships and planes with any speed. Look just at the Reaper drones, with a quarter destroyed since the Iran war began. Imagine replacing two carriers and their battle groups. It would be a quick shift to robo-war and using every possible vessel as a missile launching platform. The world economy would collapse.
> If there was a draft I think it would make the George Floyd reaction look tiny in comparison.
I think you’re right. But what if a lot of people just end up running drones from trailers in Nevada? You get a cool uniform, you get to eat Cheetos and drop ordnance from 5,000 miles away. I mean, a land invasion of China doesn’t seem realistic.

Drones can’t fly across the pacific and China has missiles that can cross the pacific. That would be a really dangerous situation for the world in general.

I’m just saying if there was actually a war between the US and China we’d both be sinking each other’s ships. And we both don’t need a navy to do that.
> Drones can’t fly across the pacific and China has missiles that can cross the pacific. That would be a really dangerous situation for the world in general.
You could fire drones off ships and islands. And break laws and disguise commercial vessels. Aleutian Islands could be an option depending on weather. For long range you can do it but those would be expensive and require higher trained pilots. You also could fly big cargo aircraft and drop drones to finish the flight. The biggest salvo would be an initial attack on Taiwan. Both sides would blot out the sky with missiles and drones.

I’m just saying there’s no reason to think US troops could ever get to China or Chinese troops could ever get to the US. Even with terrible accuracy, sailing across the pacific takes so long we could each shoot over and over and over again and the probability either side would make it across would be tiny.

Invading the U.S. would be a pain. Desert in the south, Great Lakes to the north, ocean on both sides and significant mountain ranges in the middle. For fun, look up the Canadian contingency plan in the 1920s, the UK plan to have a naval battle off of Bermuda, and the German general staff’s plan for the Kaiser to invade the East Coast from the 1900s. There’s almost a “this is stupid” aspect within all of them.

The United States is difficult to invade as long as the United States stays ahead in terms of technology. We already saw in the past what happened to Africa after the industrial revolution happened in Europe. I don’t think anything like that will happen in the next 100 years, but 500 years from now, I don’t think think it’s impossible.

Actually the past is evidence of what I’m saying: the Native Americans. They lived here on this same land and they were successfully invaded by foreigners from Europe.

The Native Americans died off because of smallpox, maybe a bioweapon could be engineered to disproportionally target a specific genetic group the same way smallpox disproportionality killed Native Americans.

Ah so the US is arming up in space because everyone is racing to create a starlink clone system and the US wants to be able to take it down when necessary. Can you imagine them eventually sending soldiers into space to fight in these satellite wars?

And this also connects to the data centers they plan to put in space which will probably also help with processing data from these satellites

And this explains the purpose of the space force wow. The people controlling trump are definitely thinking ahead these people aren't dumb but damn...real life star wars during the upcoming WW3...wasn't there a call of duty game in space recently? Lol they really are programming us early before they launch their plans

The space force is a dumb idea. If you destroy a satellite that’s not in low earth orbit, due to the lack of atmosphere, it can take potentially millions of years for debris to de-orbit, and orbital speeds are high enough that specks of paint can vaporize metal.
Anonymous A (OP) replied with this 3 weeks ago, 12 hours later, 1 day after the original post[^][v]#1,459,068
So obviously everyone is talking about how AI almost started WW3 just now but the bigger concern is now that we've established the people controlling trump are going all in on AI and space warfare, we have to ask ourselves why? Obviously you want military dominance but why are they rushing into this so fast? The rollout of AI has been lightning fast and very suspicious.

Supposedly the US has reached a deal with Greenland and the scuffle is over but I don't buy it because the new deal doesn't change much. Really this just feels like a delaying tactic like when Israel or Russia says they're open to talks, there's a very short ceasefire, and then fighting starts again. I think this is just to look good in the upcoming election and because the US was a little concerned when Denmark grew a spine and sent over troops. I have a strong feeling this isn't over.
