First I hear of it but gaming isn't dying, the population is just getting older and younger people are decreasing, especially amongst the people who can afford the money and time for gaming

Yeah I’ve seen some gameplay but nothing about it stands out for me.
Seems like a cash grab from insomniac in order to branch out from the spider man games.
Personally a punisher game would have been a better route considering the character’s current popularity, lack of games involving him and his roster and just having a contender against gta6.

Did you play the old Punisher game? Maybe XBox One era. The developers had to put filters over the executions. It was a solid game. There’s one level where Frank Castle tosses a Gnucci corpse out of his casket and hides in it. Once the service begins you can jump out and shoot everyone. There’s a zoo where you throw people into pools of electric eels. There’s a rage mode where the screen goes black and white and Castle hears his family’s voices. It’s slow motion and he throws knives. It’s overdue for a remake.

If it’s the 2005 based on the movie then nah never really got around to trying it out. I do vaguely recall people comparing it to max payne. I agree though whether it’s a remake or at least a new game with no censors. That character has a lot potential.
