I see ads on YouTube and elsewhere for all manner of supplements, cures, workout programs, loans, investment schemes. “He’s over 50 and built muscle naturally. Just as importantly, he’s a Christian.” “There’s a natural cure for toenail fungus. It’s even in the Bible.” “Dating can be difficult if you’re over 40. Especially in today’s society. You need a place to mingle with other Christians. You’re guaranteed a match.”

People who tend to be more in tune with their spirituality tend to be more gullible and susceptible to scams and things like conspiracy theories and it makes sense right? When you're in tune with your spirituality, you're more emotionally connected to the things and people around you. So when you meet somebody you're more willing to essentially "go chameleon" and change your mind to fit their worldview especially if it already aligns with things you believe. So when you tell these people mangoes will make you invincible because Jesus ate mangoes, it bypasses any defense they have against stuff like this. I should clarify though that being religious and being in tune with your spirituality are two distinct things. Just because you go to church doesn't mean your mindset is spiritual.
