Just yesterday I was watching a report about how one of the few things keeping prices down was this oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia allowing them to bypass the Hormuz Strait and I thought to myself "how the hell hasn't this been bombed by Iran yet?" and sure enough it was bombed today lmao. Surprisingly though the attack apparently came from Iraq but they don't claim it. So I guess we're just supposed to assume it's some rogue militia in Iraq.
Anyway, it's clear the war is only getting worse and is now expanding to encompass more nations. Trump really fucked this up and I'll laugh my ass off when the Iran war and the Ukrainian war converge and it's just this huge shitshow WW3 situation.

The thing about "world war" is it doesn’t have a clear definition if you think about it. In World War One for example, most of the fighting happened in Europe. Colonial powers had already fought wars on different continents so it’s debatable if World War One was a world war and if it was if it was really the first one. Even in World War Two, there were countries that weren’t involved. I don’t think that it’s the beginning of a new world war, but if something broke out say over Taiwan or whatever, I think I would recommend that being in South America, Ireland, or South Africa is probably your best bet.

Because the thing is right, the United States is the strongest military power. That’s not inherently a good thing if you don’t want to be sucked into a war. It’s better to be in an irrelevant country that has nothing to do with anything, that isn’t strongly aligned with either side. South Africa is far away from any of the conflict regions you’re worried about, there are people who speak English there, as far as Africa goes it’s relatively developed even if it’s not perfect or has higher crime, it’s better than a lot of places. Ireland is geographically situated so that it could remain neutral in both world wars, they get to use the UK as a human shield basically and they’re militarily neutral. And South America is just sort of out of the way in the same way South Africa is. Australia and New Zealand aren’t good bets because they’re allied with the US so if there’s a third world war and the US starts drafting people, you can count on Australia and New Zealand to jump right in.

Trust me if the Iran war and Ukraine war converge, everyone will be calling it WW3. I guess the main question is how specifically that would happen. I do remember hearing about Iran supplying Russia with drones but honestly I think Europe will definitely be involved if the two wars collide. We already see Germany rearming and it's always a world war when that happens.

Probably the absolute worst place to be on the planet in a third world war is East Asia. The democracies in East Asia are tiny and are in very close proximity to China, which has vastly more resources.

Yeah, I’d agree with that. Although I think that situation would be far less dangerous than if China tries taking Taiwan. If Ukraine and Iran converge, then that’s just a world war between the west and Russia, basically. China is far more powerful than Russia that would be much more dangerous if China and Russia align with each other in a war where they each share a common interest.

Yeah I knew I remembered that correctly > On July 25, 2026, Ukrainian long-range drones struck targets in the Caspian Sea, including sanctioned cargo vessels and a Russian warship involved in military shipments with Iran, marking a direct convergence of the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East
So you can easily see these wars merging into a larger conflict and then from there it's all systems set to go.

China, hasn’t caught up to the United States militarily yet, in the next 20 years if all goes according to their plans, they’ll catch up in terms of aircraft carriers. Right now their economy isn’t as large as the United States, but in terms of purchasing power parody, it’s larger. Russia’s economy is the size of Italy’s economy, it’s not very impressive. The technological sophistication of China combined with their large population and massive manufacturing capacity would make than far more dangerous than a war with Russia.

Probably, I think it’s unlikely that China would try taking Taiwan soon, even if the world destabilizes, I think they have a rational interest to try and develop their military capabilities to reach the level of the United States before they start losing things in a war. I think that will only happen soon if the US does something incredibly incompetent and shows so much weakness that the Chinese feel like they just have to seize on the opportunity.

I also think a war with Russia would be bad, but if you just leave Europe, if you’re in Africa, South America, Ireland, etc. it’s basically not your problem even if Russia fights NATO directly.

Oh God it's BL spamming again. Nobody else does this shit we know it's you. Logically how do you think people are going to have a conversation with you if you don't shut the fuck up for 5 seconds? Obviously you know this and are just trying to shut down conversation. Anyway I've said what I've wanted to on the situation so no need to engage further.
