I know western communists don't generally like organized religion anyway but seeing the CCP crack down on small religious communities within China is probably the biggest reason to reject communism entirely for most people. This one thing alone will have people embracing capitalism wholeheartedly even if they'd normally have issues with inequality and things of that nature. I don't think China particularly cares about advancing the communist cause around the globe but if they did, this is absolutely not the way to do it
