I haven't bought a physical game in years and don't give a fuck about kojima's lastest weird vanity project. The drama has had literally zero impact on my opinion of sony.
Not really. Some talking heads can't handle that they'd want to stop throwing money away on some game that is still years away from completion. Some are revelling in the idea that there's bad blood between the two now (there isn't) or that this is somehow the end of Sony (it's not).

It's not the end of Sony but it's clear sentiment is shifting. Nobody wants to be part of a group that's being clowned on and for the past year everyone and their grandma have been shitting on Sony. Not to mention just from a price perspective they've raised prices so it's really just giving people reasons to jump ship. You seem like a Sony fanboy though so of course you'll deny all this
This is actually part of what I'm talking about, people have really emotionally internalised that Sony is such an evil corporation that you are literally unable to see things outside of the lens of "If you don't hate Sony then you must be a fanboy".
I hate to break it to you but the reason you think "everyone and their grandma have been shitting on Sony" is because you watch Anti-Sony content and the algorithm is delivering more to you. Most people who aren't terminally online neckbeards don't care. The disc debate is hilarious to me because I play PC and I've been using Steam since 2010. I haven't bought a disc based game since Xbox 360.

I don't hate Sony and it's objectively a fact many people have been shitting on Sony lol nothing you or I say will change that. Sony is fine. The internet will have you believe the entire business is going belly up over this. The vast majority of their customers have no idea this is going on or do not care. Sony is fine. They are not imploding. A bunch of angry nerds shouting online is not affecting their bottom line one bit. I'm saying this as an angry nerd who hates what Sony and most modern tech companies are doing. They're too big to fail and will continue to march onward, getting shittier and shittier with each passing year.
