Although, it is ironic that Japan seems more right leaning and China, in theory, has a far left authoritarian government, yet Japan has legal porn and China doesn’t. So they’re breaking stereotypes in that regard.

Honestly, left wing authoritarians are a bit boring. Sure, things have happened, any conservative will tell you, but they never really seemed to try the whole, "let’s go for broke and conquer the world and if we all die in the process then so be it" attitude the axis had in WWII. It’s almost not even surprising they lost because they went so hard it was basically suicidal. The axis really chose to fight a war that you can’t lose. Some countries do have laws where they’re required to disclose it for whatever reason, like Australia. So you can see how much money the Catholic Church has in Australia specifically. But the entire world is hard to answer.

Ironically even thought the Catholic Church doesn’t require tithing since there are Protestants in Germany, part of the taxes Germans pay goes to their religion, so Catholics in Germany end up paying taxes to the Catholic Church.

You know in Linux originally, they had this idea that it would be cool if there was a way to kill a process so they invented the kill command, but they realized that being able to send a signal to a process arbitrarily was super useful so instead of making another command called sendsignal or something they just repurposed the kill command for inter process communication? It’s really lazy but the world is built on that.

That’s a tangent, but an interesting once. Another interesting tangent about operating systems is the fact that you can’t just arbitrarily shift data around so they have to choose whether to use an implicit or an explicit freelist for implementing malloc and you can use first fit, best fit, or next fit and they each have their own pros and cons.

I kinda like the idea of somebody actually putting effort into dessert. What I tend to do is eat a couple scoops of chocolate ice cream after a long day to remind myself that this universe has pleasures worth living for.

But like it’s low effort though. Those deserts were high effort. They should have some sort of manly version of that. Instead of flowers it’s nails made out of chocolate or something. That sounds so dumb people would probably make fun of it, but then it would be an it’s so bad it’s good sort of thing. A bowl of nails… without any milk… something idk.
