I don’t really get why though. They act like he’s never going to be defeated and everybody in every country will have to submit to him, except he’s 80 and he’s been the president for 6 years. Whatever he didn’t do in the first 6 years he’s not going to figure out in the last 2, and even if he stays in office for the rest of his life, the rest of his life isn’t really that long.

When they landed that rocket I remember people in comments on the internet saying things like "haha they’re 10 years behind us, we did that 10 years ago!" If you look backwards in history, it took Europe a lot longer than 10 years to get gunpowder, 10 years is nothing really.

People sometimes say that China doesn’t have any ambitions but I think that’s wrong. If you look at their plans for future aircraft carriers for example, given the number they want to build and the specifications of those carriers, it’s obvious their intention is to match the United States in terms of their military strength. Given all the shenanigans going on I do wonder about that sometimes, what the power balance will look like in 20 or 30 years.
