That’s also not correct about Catholicism, Britain and Ireland were both Catholic before the Church of England broke off from the Catholic Church and the English converted to Protestantism. Northern Ireland is a part of the UK because the British confiscated land from Irish Catholics in the north of Ireland and gave it to Protestant settlers who were given more legal rights. Irish people speaking English doesn’t have anything to do with Catholicism.

St. Patrick also didn’t kill all the snakes in Ireland, that’s just a myth. The truth is that Ireland never had snakes to begin with. Ireland has flat wide open spaces that aren’t well suited to the survival of small mammals, so any snakes that wind up in Ireland starve. Ireland had snakes in prehistoric times millions of years ago, but Ireland has never really had snakes since humans have been there.

Although, I guess on a technicality, it is conceivable that St. Patrick could have actually killed all the snakes in Ireland given that Ireland doesn’t naturally have any snakes. If he brought some snakes to Ireland and killed them that would be technically killing all the snakes in Ireland. So I’m not saying he couldn’t technically kill all the snakes in Ireland.
