We were out to dinner last night when the topic came up. Her thought, “Why didn’t her husband kill her when he came home?”
Two women at a table next to us bristled and interjected. My ex told them not to project their past relationship trauma and post-partum issues onto the case. “She’s a narcissistic child killer. Her husband should have stomped her in the front yard after he saw the basement.”

Seriously... what did he have to lose?
They'd still convict him (he's a man) but it would be considered a crime of passion and the prosecutors would likely plea him down to a nominal sentence and the probation comittee would realize he's unlikely to ever be in that situation again.
