Topic: Is it Japan’s fault China is communist?

I’ve heard the opinion before multiple times that if Japan didn’t invade China during the Chinese civil war, it’s unlikely Mao would have won the Chinese civil war, so it’s basically Japan’s fault that China is communist because the Japanese nationalists weakened the Chinese nationalists. What do you think?

It’s a fair assessment. It also didn’t help that halfass Truman didn’t continue aid. They could have hemmed in the commies in Manchuria and China had just absorbed some of the worst population losses and genocide in WWII.
