I mean obviously the checks and balances don’t work, right. I don’t like this sort of thinking, religious bigotry aside. Have you ever considered that the problem is that the constitution is a flawed document that was written by flawed men who didn’t know everything? The Supreme Court shouldn’t exist in the first place.

Every one of the abuser priests should be killed. The whole priest celibacy thing was a medieval adaptation to stem corruption. The Anglicans and Orthodox allow married clergy and yet don’t seem to have any issues. I’m sure you can find occasional abuses but nothing like the Catholic Church, going way back to the homes for children, the horrors in Ireland, global pederasty scandals.

Oh yeah, right, the British are more moral than the Irish, that’s why the British enslaved my ancestors and my Irish ancestors fought in the civil war against the south.
There are at least seven passages in the Bible where God is depicted as directly permitting or endorsing slavery. Two of these are in the Law of Moses: God permitted the Israelites to take slaves from conquered peoples permanently, and the Israelites could sell themselves into slavery temporarily to pay off debts (Exod 21:2-11; Lev 25:44-46). The other five passages are in the New Testament, where slavery as a social institution is endorsed and slaves are called to obey their masters “in everything” (Eph 6:5-9; Col 3:22-4:1; 1 Tim 6:1-2; Tit 2:9-10; 1 Pet 2:18-20).

The slaveowners in the Bible also are not white people.
I find it dishonest that people leave that out. The Bible never states that blacks and white are different and never states that blacks should be enslaved by whites. There are different kinds of slavery and the slavery in the Bible isn’t remotely the same thing or as bad as the slavery in the American south.
