It's nothing new, just an escalation of what already existed.
Women avoid accountability for most things, if they lie, steal, or cheat they are excused. Anyone who would try is reprimanded instead. There is data showing courts give very favorable punishments for women when they commit crimes compared to men.
Many states allow abortion through the third trimester, even though a baby is just the same the day before birth as it is the day of birth. Even before Roe vs. Wade happened, women caught committing abortions were given lenient sentences.
This is just a small step further. Women hate accountability more than anything, even if there is certain proof she did something women will scream and deny and deflect blame. Other women almost always defend her, because they don't like the idea a woman could ever be punished.
I've seen it in my own life, even if women don't openly say anything, they will glare at me if I ever say anything negative about women no matter how clearcut the problem was, or how serious the offense was.
They don't have a conscience, they do have solidarity, and there are many simps to back them up.

The problem is this is the worst case to advocate for women not receiving help they’re seeking. Andrea Yates is someone who was failed around her, Lindsay Clancy is not. She received help from 7 doctors, checked herself out of inpatient against the wishes of the doctors, husband started working from home to support her, had a nanny, two of the kids in daycare. She lied to doctors about taking her medication. She had far more medical care and support than almost any woman, and still murdered her children. This wasn’t a failing of anyone, she is just a murderer. There is certainly a better case to prove your point because overall it’s correct.
