I walk by these places and I hope they get a good workout. Teaching some of those stances and techniques for self-defense is malpractice. From what I see, a third rate amateur boxer or high school wrestler would wipe the floor with their black belts and instructors. Big step punch, block, counter. The guy or woman punching keeps their arm outstretched.

I have yet to witness a real fight that isn't pummeling or rolling around in the grass. Nobody is going to wait for akido guy to line up the next pose before going ape on them.
