I don’t understand why white people on the internet always look for one black person who did something wrong and then try and act like the sky is falling and this means everything will change. I don't know. I know that people are saying it's "about DEI hiring" practices or whatever, but if it had been a white professor doing this then there would be very little conversation around whether other white academics are also suspect and have just coasted by on their race.
The implication here seems to be that black academics are just generally not as good, as they've just taken advantage of DEI and easily landed a job. Also, they can all be generalised for because this one black guy was dodgy. Seems pretty racist to me.

Like running 30 marathons in 35 days (the last ten with a fractured leg that had swollen to twice its normal size!), being beaten to the point of having a seizure and becoming epileptic by a gang of miscreants (who he forgives so they can focus on their education)... and then they show up in one of his sociology classes years later as adult students and one asks him to become godfather to his child!
Not to mention being severely autistic and developmentally delayed, then acquiring speech at the age of 11 and talking perfectly normally thereafter. Being illiterate until the age of 18. Not to mention overcoming testicular cancer, brain tumors, a stroke that left him with amnesia such that he had to relearn his whole doctoral thesis, raising £5.5 million for charity (but he can't talk about it in any detail - he signed a nondisclosure agreement), installing water pumps in Brazilian favelas for Water Aid, who says they don't send volunteers abroad and also has no record of him working with them.
Not to mention being threatened at Cambridge by masked knife-wielding men demanding not his wallet, watch or phone but rather his resignation (he couldn't be bothered to report them to the police and they also weren't on CCTV and no one else saw them). A pig's head being sent to his mother (also couldn't be bothered to report that to the police). Being featured in a TV documentary series (Seven Up) that aired 20 years before he was born.
Did I mention he was also a semi-pro snooker player and footballer? And he was also a visiting professor at several universities which have no record of him ever being there?

This is the heart of the problem: Because of the colour of his skin, all his life he has been held to lower standards of education, ability, ethics, morals, behaviour, etc.
