Partially correct. The volume increases but mass will always stay the same.
Currently the ice is partially connected to the ocean floor by whatever means which takes care of not putting all its weight in the sea.
When the ice melts it'll put more in the ocean and sea levels go up eventually.

The problem is that that in Antarctica and Greenland the ice is on top of a continent. If that ice melts it raises the sea level. Arctic ice will have no impact on sea levels, because it is in the water.

The melting of the arctic ice caps will cause the summers to become hotter and drier and the winters to become colder and drier by disrupting the table of saline:fresh water in the ocean and so slowing down (or even stopping) the Gulf Stream.
Like in that movie The Day After Tomorrow. That film is based on actual scientific ideas (kind of) but now you get mocked whenever you say it because people assume that if it is in a movie it cannot be true lol
