I’m not sure how to feel about it though. That’s the other thing, people who think their culture is superior are really stupid because they think it’s objective. Everybody just assumes "oh my culture is the best and it’s just obvious how could anybody think differently." But I think it would be interesting if there was some way for true believers from different countries to interact with each other without killing each other. For example, if a white supremacist from America, a Muslim guy from Saudi Arabia, and a Chinese communist could all talk openly with each other. I think that would be interesting because all three people would have zero concept that they don’t come from the greatest civilization ever.

And this has real consequences. For example, one of the reasons why Iran hasn’t fallen is because the United States doesn’t have a monopoly on GPS anymore because China has their own space program so they made their own version. Easy Asia is very poor in terms of oil resources. The Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor because we sanctioned 90% of their oil supply. If you look at a map of oil reserves in China and a map of the Japanese Empire, there’s a clear correlation there. The Japanese thought they needed an empire in the first place because Japan couldn’t defend itself with its own resources due to its lack of oil. Ironically this helped transform them into an industrial powerhouse since they can’t make money by selling natural resources and they haven’t had to resort to imperialism again because of the system of global trade established by the US which allows them to just buy oil. China saw this as a strategic threat so they produce most of the world’s electric vehicles and have made themselves much less dependent on oil in a relatively short timespan. They have actually overproduced electric vehicles because they rely so much on automation. They have factories called dark factories where there are so many robots you could turn the lights off if you wanted to. They produce more cars than the US and Japan combined and they’re mostly EVs.

The United States went to China for cheap labor to manufacture iPhones and Teslas. But to do this, we had to teach the Chinese how to build iPhones and Teslas. Also regarding oil, China never had enough oil in the first place so they rely heavily on coal for generating electricity.

But if you’re really skeptical about population statistics, you can look at China on google earth and compare what you see to the United States. The conspiracy theories that China has a smaller population aren’t true, they legitimately do have 1.4 billion people.

Just compare the density of the cities, how far you have to go from one bit city before you see another big city. They do have a lot more people. They just do.
