If Morocco doesn't get it's shit together and prevent people from... Literally swimming to Spain, there might be need for some drastic action, considering it might lead to some kind of a European Trump that just ends up making everything worse for everyone

The history of that region is fairly interesting. For some reason people think that Europe always had dominance over Africa, but if you look back far enough, it’s actually a pendulum that swung back multiple times. First Cartage controlled Spain, then Rome controlled North Africa, then North Africans converted Spain to Islam, then Islam was converted to Catholicism and Africa was colonized. History never ends.

In terms of skin color, North Africans are different from Sub Saharan Africans, but it’s all Africa, it’s all one landmass. Sub Saharan Africans and North Africans have always had some cultural similarities going all the way back to the Egyptians.

Of course, a lot of Sudanese people are considered Arab, but I’m black and they’re twice as dark as I am, so the entire thing is less straight forward than people think. You can’t actually divide the two groups as cleanly as people think.

Especially when you start getting into the thing of, is "Arab" a race or a culture? Because there are some people who think it’s a culture and some people who think it’s a race. Hence, Sudanese Arabs looking like black people thinking they’re not black. My own opinion is that race is a social construct and I don’t particularly care.

You do realize that black people as a distinct genetic group don’t actually exist, right? Sub Saharan Africans have more genetic diversity than the rest of the world combined yet you want to lump them all into one race. It doesn’t make any sense. A British person and a Japanese person have more in common with each other genetically than "black people" do.

And you can tell if you just look at people. African Americans are mostly all from one part of Africa so we look similar, but actually look at different "black" people from Africa.

It would make more sense to classify everyone who’s not African as one race than it would make to classify everyone who’s African as one race. You could argue literally every group of people in Africa isn’t really black if you tried hard enough. I’m a black American with Nigerian ancestry. In Nigeria, before it was colonized by the British, they wrote using Arabic script and a lot of Nigerians were / still are Muslim. If you tried hard enough you could make an argument that Nigerians aren’t really black and because black Americans are ethnically Nigerian we’re not really black. It’s a stupid argument because it’s based on something that’s not real in the first place. "Black" isn’t even a category that was invented by people who are considered black and it has very little to do with how people in Africa actually identify themselves culturally. It would be stupid to distinguish yourself from everyone around you based on the thing you have in common with everyone around you. It makes way more sense to categorize ethnicities in Africa based on language and religion than it does based on skin color.

@previous (Mr. Bloody Lemonade !0JqexkOGBc)
Of course the reason why white people don’t do that is because then they’d realize how complicated the real situation is and would have to confront that their over generalizations and simplifications when talking about all black people as one thing make them sound fucking stupid because they have no idea what the hell they’re talking about.
