Topic: Women are really exhausting and I'd rather not be near them

Anonymous A started this discussion 3 weeks ago #136,511

Despite that, I often feel good solving issues they complain about. The only catch is they complain a lot.

The behavior of most women has completely deteriorated.

They contradict themselves, they think yelling over people is how you win an argument, they demand others pay for their lifestyle whole calling themselves independent, they will try to humiliate and hurt those below them (even if its other women).

So many more problems too.

I don’t know you were female

You like to call it misogyny when I say women have these problems, but your white supremacist pedo cult officially states women aren't fit for leadership in your church.

Do you see the contradiction?

How is the Catholic Church white supremacist? Jesus wasn’t European, most of the locations in the Bible are in the Middle East and Africa, and genesis doesn’t make any distinction between God creating different races. There is no concept of God creating more than one human race.

"Oh but the Vatican is in Europe."

So the religion encompasses Europe, Asia, and Africa?

You also can’t really separate the history of Europe from the history of Africa. There’s an Egyptian obelisk from Egypt in the center of the Vatican, but it wasn’t placed there by a pope (it was moved within the Vatican), but it wasn’t brought there by the Catholic Church, it predates that. It was brought to Rome by Caligula. They’ve always been connected, and I’m both so I don’t see any contradiction.

Mr. Bloody Lemonade !0JqexkOGBc double-posted this 3 weeks ago, 4 minutes later, 2 hours after the original post[^] [v] #1,449,115

Apparently, it’s the only obelisk in Rome that’s never fallen.

Rome in the ancient world, the church in the medieval world, and the United States in the modern world all have something in common.

Good job avoiding the part about women, which was what the previous two comments were about lol.

Maybe no one will notice the deflection.

Some of them can be worth it if you get in a relationship with them

It’s not because Catholics believe that women are inferior. It’s because the apostles were men and priests and bishops inherit the role of church leadership passed down from Peter. It’s Catholic tradition. One of the common things Protestants complain about is they say we worship Mary or pray to Mary even though that’s not our characterization of it.

If you take the Hail Mary for instance we aren’t praying to Mary, we’re asking her to pray on behalf of us.

"Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen."

On of the fundamental disagreements between Catholics and other denominations is the belief in the immaculate conception which is the belief that Mary was born perfect without the original sin that all other humans except for Jesus were born with. So there is a perfect example without sin for both men and women. However, Jesus is God and Mary is the mother of God.

Pope Francis actually advocated for increasing women’s role in the church since their unique perspective is invaluable. However, even though that’s the case, Catholics consider ourselves to be the original Christian church founded by Jesus, so we like to adhere to tradition. The idea of women becoming Catholic priests anytime soon is pretty unlikely.

Anonymous I triple-posted this 3 weeks ago, 3 minutes later, 16 hours after the original post[^] [v] #1,449,242

The idea among Catholics who are less cafeteria Catholics, not necessarily super conservative politically, but maybe a bit more conservative with regards to their political ideology (some people can be politically left wing but religiously right it’s a whole thing), will say that men and women are equal in spirit and in worth, but God created us with separate roles in this life. That doesn’t mean that one is superior and the other is inferior, both sexes are necessary for the continued existence of our species. But they will say that God created you as a man because he knew that what was best for you was to be married to a woman or that God created you as a woman because he know that what was best for you was to be married to a man. But not that women are better than men or that men are better than women.

Although myself I’m a bit more progressive leaning I guess, but not to the extent my views are incompatible with being a Catholic and I still broadly agree with the church on a lot of social issues related to poverty or charity or migrants, etc. I like the emphasis on mercy and compassion.

Anonymous I quintuple-posted this 3 weeks ago, 10 minutes later, 16 hours after the original post[^] [v] #1,449,244

Then the reason why Catholics consider themselves to be the original church is because Jesus was the founder and in the Bible, Jesus insisted that the church built atop Peter as the foundation will never be overcome.

"And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it." - Mt 16:18

For context, Peter means rock. It’s a metaphor. Jesus is saying, "Peter, you are a rock, and upon this rock I will build my church which hell will never prevail against."

The church can and has evolved over time, but fundamentally there are some things that can’t change.

The primacy of Rome was indirectly established by Jesus. He didn’t establish the city of Rome as having primacy, he established Peter as having primacy and Peter later became the bishop of Rome and the pope is the leader of the Catholic Church as the bishop of Rome inheriting the title from Peter. Even among the Orthodox churches, the concept of primacy existed but they understood it as the pope being "first among equals." However, the Roman interpretation is that the pope is the legitimate leader of the entire church on earth.

Anonymous I septuple-posted this 3 weeks ago, 2 minutes later, 17 hours after the original post[^] [v] #1,449,246

If you think about it, it is miraculous that Jesus was executed by Rome, and Peter established the church in Rome when monotheism wasn’t tolerated by the Roman state, but somehow 2,000 years later, the Catholic Church converted and outlasted the existence of the Roman Empire, survived both world wars, and still has 1.4 billion followers. Generally the understanding is that the success of the church can only be attributed to God not human effort.

I really enjoyed reading the first post, skipping everything in the middle, and reading this last post @previous (I)

It's a perfect experience. Was there any logical progression from the first post to this completely unrelated last post? Probably not, but I don't want to know. It is more fun that way.

I no longer date women my age and it’s not because I have magical Svengali skills or an aversion to their appearance. There are older women who take fine care of themselves.

1) Stress (theirs)

2) Life issues: It’s fucking depressing what they unload on you. (Unpaid emotional labor)

3) You’re the bag holder for every guy who ever did them wrong, whether real grievances or in their heads

4) Generally low sex drive with perimenopause or worse

5) I have no interest in fixing their financial or preexisting health issues. I liked one woman but she had student loan debt (!) and personal debt totaling $500,000. I’m sure a divorce court would happily saddle me with half or more.

6) I don’t consent to a survey of my lifestyle and finances on a first date.

7) Off the charts entitlement in a woman who is 45+ who thinks she can still get away with what worked at 25. “You will do XYZ for me and come to my niece’s wedding and pick me up at the airport on Friday night at 9 pm and drive me home. But I need to know you for at least six months before I can become intimate.” Yeah, I’m good you 49 year old blushing debutante.

8) Baggage. Teen kids who hate you. Ex husbands or boyfriends who try to mess with you. Getting to know their older parents or siblings, meh.

I can land single moms with tight schedules who need stress relief and schedule constrained medical workers, all in early to mid 30s. Why would I bother courting middle age?
