I think the judge order is very revealing tbh. He might have been balls deep in masking, that "horrifying starring" might just be him trying to act friendly while personally having a anxiety attak

I agree. You don’t know. There are harmless “eccentric” nutters and schizoid psycho nutters. Better to get the psych evaluation and figure out what’s going on before releasing him with a misdemeanor or locking him up for years.
