Someone said something similar on twitter actually, it was a post of Micheal Richard promoting his new book and talking about the laugh factory incident in ‘06 so it prompted this question.
but I wonder if thats really the case or is that just something they say the for lulz. Like if penis size is a factor I still would like to hear from them anyways. what is it about black and brown people that makes them feel hostile towards them.
Sometimes they bring up numbers and stats but none of it adds up. Like what correlation does crime statistics have with the physical characteristics of a group?

Black people don't actually commit more crime than white people, it’s actually just racial bias on the part of police departments. Racists will cite arrest statistics but black Americans have very high exoneration rates because a lot of the arrests are wrongful arrests.

So it’s like, if you use your brain, which is more likely, black people and indigenous Americans coincidentally happen to commit more crime in countries that have a history of racial bias against them, or do they just get arrested more often because they’re treated unfairly by the majority ethnic group? It’s not complicated.

I can guess but I’ve never felt it myself. I’ve always been friends with people of different races.
If I had to guess, I think there’s something very powerful about group identity. I think in society we try to delude ourselves that we’re really individuals, especially in the US, but humans have a collective hive mind type thing going on. I mean, how many people really understand how anything works? Like seriously. What percentage of people do you think can explain and fully understand how an iPhone works? But everybody has an iPhone.

And maybe that sounds like a weird tangent to talk about iPhones. But obviously there’s a power to collective intelligence. Our collective intelligence as a society far surpasses our own individual intelligence and as individuals we benefit from that. So even if in the US we tell ourselves we have an individualistic culture, shouldn’t there be some part of human nature that is submissive? We have our own religious views or lack there of, we have our own political beliefs and we feel like we have agency, but they exist within the bounds of what’s socially acceptable in the society we were born in. So on some level, there has to be some submission to social norms and some innate human trust that everybody around us knows what’s correct. And that works most of the time, but what if those values are bad values instead of good ones?

Because, there are patterns to racists. People who grow up around people of other races are much less likely to be racist. You’ll notice in areas with a lot of diversity people generally are more tolerant. So there’s personal experience. In general, people are more willing to believe negative things about groups of people if they can’t identify somebody who they care about from that group. And then there’s intelligence. Not everyone is equally intelligent. Some people who come from ethnically homogenous societies don’t turn out racist because they’re smart enough to think for themselves and don’t get riled up by reactionary rhetoric. So naturally, I would think less intelligent people with limited experiences of outsiders would be more prone to trusting the collective over their own individual thoughts which would make them more prone to accepting racist or nationalist rhetoric.

I guess, the thing about racists is, they’re wrong that race is real and they’re wrong that different races have different levels of intelligence, that’s incompatible with our modern understanding of genetics. However, individuals do have different levels of intelligence across all races, and if you hang out with people from different backgrounds you’ll eventually notice that it race doesn’t really mean a whole lot when it comes to intelligence. You can find people who aren’t that bright that look like just about anything.

I feel like that might be like asking a jihadist why they want to blow themselves up. It’s not rational, so they will give a propagandistic answer that doesn’t completely make sense, but when you ask what the real reason is in their heart, they’ll still say something that doesn’t make sense. So it will be kind of hard to figure out.

If someone is broken somehow on the inside, they’re not going to just straight up tell you why because it will make them look weak, so they’ll make up a million other reasons and you’ll never get the actual reason.

Then I guess, not everybody has the same psychology. A normal person might become a racist because of some trauma or something, but somebody else might just be a psychopath. Like Adolf Hitler for example. His entire ideology was psychopathic. It was a glorification of cruelty. It wasn’t just racism, his entire ideology was based on killing off the weak so that the strong can live.

So I guess it’s a mix of multiple things. A white kid in the US who’s a psychopath might shoot up a school and a brown kid in the Middle East who’s a psychopath might join the Islamic State, but maybe they’re actually not that different.

Because I guess now that I think about it, psychopaths being radicalized to mass murder people isn’t unique to white people or anything. There are countless examples in every race, in Europe there was the holocaust, in Africa there was the Rwandan genocide, in Asia, the Japanese Empire committed a lot of atrocities. Maybe racism itself isn’t really that special. Maybe psychopaths are just attracted to the concept of cruelty and they want a justification to act out their violent fantasies, and white supremacy glorifies you if you’re white, so obviously white psychopaths would gravitate towards it.

There have been attempts at the creation of supremacist ideologies in other races, for example Idi Amin. But they were less successful because the west has been dominant since the colonization of the Americas 500 years ago.

I’ve also heard that the genes associated with psychopathy are sex linked so males are more likely to be psychopaths than females are. White supremacist ideologies generally glorify white masculinity and ignore femininity as having an important place in society and generally tend to be disinterested in women in general. There’s definitely a glorification of masculinity in Fascism because that masculine element fits in well with the traditional idea of men as warriors. That’s why they say things like "a nation is made from blood and soil." There’s an emphasis on cruelty and death.
So is this part of the whole “IQ” buzzword thats been thrown around here for the last month or so? Like I don’t know man. At some point if I was someone who spent time hating a race I’d question my purpose in life.
Someone once said to me that everyday you have a choice and each and every time you chose wrong.
I know im prone to bias as well and I have my days too. Sometimes I feel hate for all Dominicans for example. But it’s irrational and I know it to be true because not all Dominicans are the same and to demonize a race or an ethnic group or whatever skin tone is just nonsense. There are cool Dominicans and there some that are scum of the earth and at the point my understanding of that is that you shouldn’t scrutinize based on genetics because being a black Dominican ≠ criminal thug, you should scrutinize based on their character and the line of reasoning that motivates and guides their actions.
A white kid stabbed a white girl in the woods about 114 times, just because he wanted to try out murder. I could be racist and say “white males are more likely to become serial killers due their lack empathy or whatever

And there probably is something instinctual in humanity especially in males that drives us towards collective violence. We split off from chimpanzees 7 million years ago, but chimpanzee actually will engage in collective violence against other groups of chimpanzees in a primitive form of warfare were the male chimpanzees from one group will ambush another group of chimpanzees and kill individuals from that group based on their identity with that group as opposed to for what they did as individuals. Domesticated animals also tend to have smaller brains than more violent wild animals. So there’s probably some kind of association with intelligence and capacity for evil.

I don’t think there’s anything different about white males. Racism exists in all races it’s just that western powers have dominated recent history so ideologies that favor ethnic Europeans have been more prominent because they simply had the means to spread their propaganda more than other cultures did.

I also don’t think males are inherently more violent than females, most males aren’t violent, it’s just a small subset of males that lack empathy due to a genetic thing, but it’s evenly distributed across all cultures.

But I think it is real and it’s nature not nurture, because you can tell if someone is a psychopath using an MRI. They have structural differences in their brain that they’re born with that can’t be fixed through any sort of therapy or education.

Although, that doesn’t mean we should try to fix that problem, because that leads to a lot of ethical issues. There’s a reason why it evolved. Every country has a military and has politicians who do things that maybe normal people wouldn’t be able to stomach. It is a thing though, some people are just created that way and you can’t really fix them.
