Have you ever thought about how if you look into the history of Africa and Europe, there’s an argument to be made that everything that happened in the past 200 years is because of mosquitoes?

Africa had fewer people because of malaria, so Europe could colonize Africa because Africa was underpopulated. But that made Africa poor, so they kept having lots of kids, but then fewer people started dying from malaria because of modern medicine. So now there are more Africans than Europeans and even though Africans aren’t really going to Europe at a higher rate than before, there are more Africans in Europe now than there were in the past because there are more Africans now, which is driving right wing politics in the west. So it’s all because of mosquitoes if you think about it.

It’s also interesting if you think about it, Europeans couldn’t colonize Africa until the Industrial Revolution, but they had guns before the Industrial Revolution. Before the Industrial Revolution, they couldn’t deal with the mosquitoes.
