Topic: Was Aristotle redpilled?

Anonymous A started this discussion 4 weeks ago #136,382

Women should marry when they are about eighteen years of age, and men at seven and thirty; then they are in the prime of life, and the decline in the powers of both will coincide.

Anonymous B joined in and replied with this 4 weeks ago, 33 minutes later[^] [v] #1,447,552

Apparently. Just like Schopenhauer.

The great thing about May-December marriages is that by the time the woman hits menopause the guy is probably dick dead or content with the quarterly sex schedule, if there’s any to be had at all.

Ever notice how every famous guy married to an older famous woman divorces her when she hits mid-50s?

Have you ever looked into Aristotle’s views on Northern Europeans?

Mr. Bloody Lemonade !0JqexkOGBc double-posted this 4 weeks ago, 3 minutes later, 1 day after the original post[^] [v] #1,447,651

From book 7 part 7 of Politics by Aristotle:

Those who live in a cold climate and in Europe are full of spirit, but wanting in intelligence and skill; and therefore they retain comparative freedom, but have no political organization, and are incapable of ruling over others. Whereas the natives of Asia are intelligent and inventive, but they are wanting in spirit, and therefore they are always in a state of subjection and slavery. But the Hellenic race, which is situated between them, is likewise intermediate in character, being high-spirited and also intelligent. Hence it continues free, and is the best-governed of any nation, and, if it could be formed into one state, would be able to rule the world.

I mean, even in the west, different western countries came up with different racial hierarchies. In the United States under Jim Crow I would be considered black, in South Africa under apartheid I wouldn’t have been considered black because I’m half white. It’s all a bunch of arbitrary nonsense.

If a racist ever realized that racial hierarchies are social constructs and not facts of nature then they would have to grapple with the fact their ideology is based on a falsehood. Some people are evil though so such things don’t concern them.

How you decide what the best choice is, is your ideology.

If you defer to scientific research to make a decision about a medical procedure like a vaccine, you are using ideology to make a decision.

If you use faith to decide sacraments matter, you acted based on ideology.

Everyone "makes decisions based on what they think is best", and HOW they do that is their ideology.

For real though, the way you think about things is stupid. Maybe in a politics class "everybody makes decisions based on ideology" ask any normal person why they made some decision and they’ll almost never bring up their religious or political beliefs because that’s not how normal people actually think. It’s an incorrect assertion that most people have a set of core values they make decisions based on. Most people actually don’t.

Mr. Bloody Lemonade !0JqexkOGBc triple-posted this 4 weeks ago, 2 minutes later, 1 day after the original post[^] [v] #1,447,851

And I’m serious, ask a parent why they had children, "God wanted me to" and "I think my country needs more workers" aren’t going to be common answers. Ask somebody why they got married to somebody else, ask somebody why they decided on a certain career path, etc. Most people’s decisions aren’t guided by values and their actions will contradict their stated values because they don’t actually consider them.

Those same people will insist marketing doesn't affect them, but a few smiling faces in a nonsense commercial will increase sales.

There are ideologies programmed into everyone, certain stimuli prime apes to react in certain ways. Some ideas are stickier than others.

People trained to detect and react, not just in specific skills, but in how they interact with others.

You repeat the same slogans and mistakes as the other leftists, but you will never be able to reconcile the contradictions which is why you need to have a justification for that: a rejection of logical consistency, and consequentially a rejection of the second-order which has you rejecting the material reality of ideology.

Your neurons can be rearranged with important consequences, just the same as the bits in memory in a robot.
