I'm pretty sure my house has 4 pages of exclusions... I'm not even sure if it's actually insured for anything. They gladly take money for premiums though.

If it's inconsistent then insurance isn't a good business.
But even expensive situations are insurable if they are consistent. You can just pass the increased costs along and still add your premium.

Insurance is always good business. They invest your money and hide behind verbiage. Premiums go up, payouts go down, and you’re legally obligated to buy many kinds, plus riders and often things like umbrella policies. If the sea levels go up whole communities will become uninsurable and you will see massive population shifts.
