100%. I put myself in a social circle where people have active interests and read books. I have another circle for nerd interests but it’s basic shit like board games. One player is a physicist and I tell him to share that and save any discussion of One Piece or Naruto for his fellow sock fuckers.

I had someone try "actually Naruto season -whatever- isn't that bad" on me once. Yikes bud, you're like 50... you've got money and no kids, get better hobbies.
Tabletop absolutely gets a free pass though, RPG elements and social aspect - I'll allow it.

Games are fun. My neighbor hosts a DND crew separate from his other game nights and it’s not the 1980s anymore. There are demonstrably attractive women in attendance.
