Tbh I’ve heard things about Argentina from people who have spent time in South America. Mostly that they think they’re better than everybody else in South America because they’re white and first world and allied with America. Which is weird because Americans never think about these people at all.

All true. It’s an extremely racist society. But so is the rest of South America. Argentinians and Chileans exterminated their indigenous people, or put them in zoos (yes, really), and casually use words like “negrocito” as a casual dominutive.

To be fair, I remember looking up the indigenous populations of various countries in the Americas. Obviously Mexico is in North America but they have a higher indigenous population than the US so… I’m sure South America is racist against natives, but it would be hypocritical for me to pretend like the United States didn’t do the same thing.

One of the weird things about racism is it seems like it sticks more in certain cultures than in other cultures. It seems like anti black racism really stuck in the Americas. Germany is kind of surprising though because they have the reputation of taking racism farther than anybody else did ever and the holocaust and all that, but even compared to other European countries, Germany doesn’t really feel very racist.

unless I've been seriously mislead, those islands were discovered by France and England before Spain got there, and any claim by Argentina is based on a bullshit idea of "inheritance" from Spain who wasn't even there.

Looked up Falklands and what is there as to why UK wants something so far away. Of course once upon a time England took anything they could colonize and corrupt.
