Would things be better or worse?

Inflation in Western countries from huge wealth transfer plus a glutted housing market with everyone trying to unload parents’ homes and condos.

That's almost every politician and business leader.

So probably a net positive.

The average age in Japan is 50, so I think that might be technically racist against Japanese people somehow.

It’s interesting how there’s certain data that people never bring up that you’d think would be relevant in trying to explain the world. Like the fact that Africans are teenagers and Japanese people are 50. That feels like that explains a lot of things.

Kind of like Logan’s Run, but that was age 30. You’d have real problems with infrastructure considering the base of blue collar master tradesmen is 40-50+.

Tbh we already have real problems with infrastructure.

One of the advantages China has is they’re poorer so there are loads of young Chinese guys who are happy to build stuff… in random African countries at that.

Can you imagine asking a 20 year old American kid if they want to fly to Kenya to build a railroad? Can you imagine the look on their face?

Although not all of China is poor, it’s just they have one coast instead of two coasts and generally cities are built near the water, people in cities make more money, and Chinese people near the coast tend to have much better living standards than people in western China. So it’s not like everything sucks for everybody, I’m not saying that. I’m just saying, we don’t have loads of young guys who are happy to get into construction.
