Stories of people who were poor and won the lottery usually don’t end well anyway. It’s like, "homeless man wins 20 million, gets taxed 90% of it, because he wanted it all at once, keeps 1.8 million, blows it on bookers and cocaine, his family begs for his money, and he winds up homeless a year later."

They don’t know anything about financial management, taxes, taxes on financial gifts to others, cash flow … you’d think there’d be a winner-paid-for financial management course.

I've watched famous matches and read books on strategy. I could hold my own in the Chicago scene, but went to kunming for a summer and random locals were eating my lunch.

Oh my gosh. Are you saying that most gamblers lose money, and that gambling companies have things set up so that they make large profits? I can't believe this!

I have a friend who makes a lot of his money gambling but it’s mostly sports bets. He walked me through his arbitrage plays, formulas, etc. It’s a job. He has massive statistical models, spreads, variables, and has his databases on a server not directly linked to the Internet. He also has to duck efforts to kick people like him out or to force him into limited positions or flat bets.
