I have something I must confess to. I know people make jokes about how dumb whites like exploring stuff. "Oh what’s the deepest part of the ocean, look at this fish we saw!"
I did something unafrican. I went over a thousand feet deep underground to go explore an underground waterfall in a cave.
I didn’t see the devil down there, but I could hear him. So, can’t confirm if God exists, but I have some bad news about the existence of evil.

For real though, it’s the craziest thing to go down a thousand feet underground and you enter a giant black void and you have no idea how big it is but you can hear the water rushing down. The idea you could have a society under a mountain in Lord of the Rings sounds ridiculous until you realize just how big it is down there. You could legitimately make apartments in that cave if you wanted, it’s freaking big.

Like I’ve made cave diving jokes on the internet but seriously it’s actually fun. I almost wonder if it’s something primal. One of the most popular video games ever is one where you go exploring caves. Think about it, cavemen. What if it’s some instinctual thing, what if as a species we really belong deep in the earth? When we die we put people in the ground. Maybe that’s where we need to be. Maybe we need to stop fighting all these wars on the surface of the earth and realize there’s a lot of space on the interior.
