Apparently, laws created in the 1950s and 1960s forbade the breeding and sale of pigs, have since (2004) been overturned, but Israel seems to treat the matter as a city-by-city affair with some fairly recent (2007) debate about the issue. Apparently it is possible to get bacon, but how easy it is will depend on where you live. It is legal to sell nationally, as there is a market for it among sensible people in Israel who feel that millennia-old dietary restrictions are stupid.

This makes sense. I know atheist Jews in the States that won't eat bacon, just out of tradition. Israel probably doesn't have a big enough market to stock it everywhere (not to mention the complaints the could get).
