So I should look at India, a country of 1.4 billion people, and I should look at Singapore, a city state, and conclude that colonialism isn’t bad because the tiny authoritarian city state is wealthy and the giant democracy is poor? I’m just saying, I’ve noticed people who want to deny colonialism was bad always bring up Hong Kong and Singapore, which are cities. And they don’t bring up China, India, and the continent of Africa, which are about 17% of humanity each and they’re all poorer than western countries on a per-capita basis and they’re we’re all colonized. Literally Africa, India, and China are half of humanity, but people have the audacity to bring up two cities as a counter example as if that’s not obviously stupid.

Most of Europe’s colonization of Africa took place in the late 1800s, they had cameras back then. They took pictures of what they were doing to Africans. You can’t tell me they were civilizing Africa. There’s a reason why recently the UN voted to consider the trans Atlantic slave trade to be officially considered as a crime against humanity.

"Oh the stupid Stone Age people next to monkeys who had spears and were hunter gatherers" how come if you go to a western museum they’ll have European swords or maybe a katana, but they won’t display any African swords. Africans already had governments and laws and written language and the ability to make iron tools before Europeans colonized it, Europeans destroyed Africa. People want to deny it or say Africans should be responsible for their poverty or whatever, but it’s true. There was civilization in Africa before Europeans got there and it wasn’t primitive.
