Look at Singapore!

So I should look at India, a country of 1.4 billion people, and I should look at Singapore, a city state, and conclude that colonialism isn’t bad because the tiny authoritarian city state is wealthy and the giant democracy is poor? Have you ever thought it might be easier to manage a city than an actual country?

I’m just saying, I’ve noticed people who want to deny colonialism was bad always bring up Hong Kong and Singapore, which are cities. And they don’t bring up China, India, and the continent of Africa, which are about 17% of humanity each and they’re all poorer than western countries on a per-capita basis and they’re we’re all colonized. Literally Africa, India, and China are half of humanity, but people have the audacity to bring up two cities as a counter example as if that’s not obviously stupid.

Most of Europe’s colonization of Africa took place in the late 1800s, they had cameras back then. They took pictures of what they were doing to Africans. You can’t tell me they were civilizing Africa. There’s a reason why recently the UN voted to consider the trans Atlantic slave trade to be officially considered as a crime against humanity.

Or even the stupid "we were kings" thing white supremacists say to mock black people. You can’t tell me that the British didn’t burn down royal palaces in Africa and steal cultural artifacts when they took pictures of the royal palaces they burned down with the artifacts they were stealing.

They literally burned down cities, cut peoples hands off, enslaved people, and didn’t allow blacks to be educated in their own native languages, then had the audacity to say they civilized Africa and we had no history or architecture or technology or written language when literally none of that is true!

They even go to the point where they only selectively show the most primitive cultures and the most primitive art from Africa in order to distort reality. How come when you go to a western museum you always see stuff like this (nothing wrong with it):

Mr. Bloody Sunday triple-posted this 1 month ago, 18 seconds later, 33 minutes after the original post[^] [v] #1,441,350

But then they don’t show anything like this:

Mr. Bloody Sunday quadruple-posted this 1 month ago, 3 minutes later, 37 minutes after the original post[^] [v] #1,441,351

"Oh the stupid Stone Age people next to monkeys who had spears and were hunter gatherers" how come if you go to a western museum they’ll have European swords or maybe a katana, but they won’t display any African swords. Africans already had governments and laws and written language and the ability to make iron tools before Europeans colonized it, Europeans destroyed Africa. People want to deny it or say Africans should be responsible for their poverty or whatever, but it’s true. There was civilization in Africa before Europeans got there and it wasn’t primitive.

Mr. Bloody Sunday quintuple-posted this 1 month ago, 1 minute later, 38 minutes after the original post[^] [v] #1,441,353

But oh noooo, the Europeans have to tell themselves that Africans have to live in poverty because Africans are just stupid instead of I don’t know, read a fucking history book.

Or even "oh you people lived in mud huts because you’re stupid" ignoring that baked mud functions similarly to concrete and their are mud structures in Africa that look like this

Or even using straw as a material isn’t inherently bad. There are European buildings that had thatched roofs.

Did you ever read about how Rhodesia suppressed archaeological studies in favor of a hack study that said the ruins and stone structures found were built by Asians?

You can't reason with idiotic racists. Why even try?

Because I’m bored on the internet and racists never turn down an opportunity to talk to a black guy. It’s like that saying in economics, people respond to incentives. Until someone talks to me for cheaper than a racist, this is the most economical way to get attention online.

Technically, there were Asians in Africa before Europeans got there. Not in Zimbabwe though. Madagascar, definitely. Don’t think Zimbabwe. Honestly I’m probably going to look into that because I find these sorts of wild white supremacist conspiracy theories to be entertaining.

Mr. Bloody Sunday triple-posted this 1 month ago, 13 minutes later, 5 hours after the original post[^] [v] #1,441,404

Tbh it would be kinda dumb though to use that to claim Madagascar isn’t African though, because the people with Asian ancestry in Madagascar have been living there for so long and have mixed with Africans from Africa for so long that they’re not really not African. They technically are genetically Black even if they’re also Asian. They’re not really "Indonesian" even if they technically are genetically, they’re just indigenous to Madagascar. I googled it and apparently they’re 50% African genetically.

Archaeological evidence says there definitely were Arabs there around the time Great Zimbabwe was flourishing (about 1200AD).

Well if you consider the Arabs Asian, which I mean technically the Arabian peninsula is a part of Asia then Africa has loads of Asians by that definition.

Mr. Bloody Sunday double-posted this 1 month ago, 1 minute later, 1 day after the original post[^] [v] #1,441,622

Although, Arabs got to Arabia from Africa, and then they went back to Africa, so it’s like… idk

Mr. Bloody Sunday triple-posted this 1 month ago, 5 minutes later, 1 day after the original post[^] [v] #1,441,623

It’s sort of ironic because some people say they colonized North Africa, humans came from Africa not Arabia though, so there’s something kinda funny about that. It would be like if Americans colonized Europe or something.

Look up Gertrude Caron-Thompson and David Randall-MacIver. An earlier 1904 dickhead deliberately destroyed stratified layers and timeline evidence at sites. I was wrong about Asia — the myth was that Phoenicians or the Queen of Sheba built the structures.

I’m well familiar with the common racist tropes that there was no construction below North Africa. Racists also ignore the Ghanaian Empire, the Axum Empire, and the Ajuran Sultunate, and the salt routes. Or they meme that Mansa Musa was the “OG rapper and pimp.”

It’s hard to find good historical works. There are a few on these empires or they’re academic. I was initially excited about a new book that rolls up a dozen African empires. Unfortunately it’s not engagingly written. It is rotten with obscurantist “critical theory” blather and telling rather than showing. Which is a fucking shame because Axum (or Aksum) was a major Roman trading partner. It held Yemen and the southern Arabian peninsula for centuries until Islamic invasions cut the empire off from the rest of the Mediterranean.
