Topic: A concise summary of British-Irish politics for the Americans.

Anonymous A started this discussion 6 hours ago #135,567

Unionists = Similar to Unionists in the American civil war. Wanted freedom and equality.

Republicans = Like the Republican party for America today. Also big on the color red.

"The Troubles" = Series of terrorist attacks by the Irish Red Army to genocide the Christians who live in the north of the island.

Irish use a mix of communism, pope worship, and druidism/snakemagick. The island’s tuatha compete to host multinational firms to raise reported GDP per capita, with presidentés on both sides granting tax waivers (fuck them poor!).

In the eiregrovechronicles it is noted a simultaneous rise in material prosperity and cultural erosion as communities in the Republic and the North prioritized worshipping billionares and helping them evade taxes.

Ireland has the highest electricity costs in the world because they have power hungry, gluttonous people. Faking your GDP, but really you have no disposable income because your electric bill eats it all.

They turned tax the rich on its head. I hope they do the same for eat the rich, every ginger into the gullet.

Comparing Irish Republicanism to the Republican party is like saying a Caucasian is a type of Chinese.

Also, the Catholic Church is the original Christian church founded by Jesus, and England was originally Catholic like Ireland but the Anglican Church broke off from the Catholic Church because King Henry VIII wanted a male heir to the throne but kept having female children so he blamed his wives and kept beheading them because the pope wouldn’t let him get a divorce, and that’s why England isn’t Catholic.

Actually, if you look into it, the reason why Ireland is Catholic is because the English converted the Irish to Catholicism. Before that the Irish were Druids. But the Irish didn’t convert to Protestantism when England did, so then the English sent settlers to Northern Ireland and came up with a system called Plantation where only landowners could vote and Irish Catholics had to give up their land to British Protestants. Which was used as a model for the other British colonies since Ireland was Britain’s first colony and they controlled it for about 800 years that way. That’s why if you look at other former British colonies like South Africa and the United States you’ll find similarities in how the British established their colonial system. For example, most of the farmers in South Africa are white and in what’s now the US, originally only landowners could vote.

A lot of old Protestant churches in England are actually originally Catholic Churches. For example Westminster Abby was originally a Roman Catholic Church.

The Italian church broke from Christendom when a bishop stuck his nose in family business and told a King he had to send his nation into chaos absent a clear heir, just to simp to an infertile woman.

Protestants don’t even believe that Protestantism is original Christianity.

The Catholic Church isn’t "the Italian church" btw, Catholic means universal, the Catholic Church is the universal Christian church, and it’s the latest denomination of Christianity, half of all Christians in the world are Catholic, over a billion people.

Interestingly, because Protestantism is so fragmented, despite being a minority, Catholicism is actually the largest denomination of Christianity in the United States.
