Meh. not exactly. Sure, APM is important but all the players at the pro level sport similar APM, you've got it backwards. At a high level it's about strategy, and at lower levels it's about speed.

i been wanting to ask this, but i never find any starcraft players; how effective is the "zerg rush" tactic at professional level?

It can work, but not more than once in a series. It's gimmicky, but can be effective. Depending how quickly you rush army you leave yourself wide open to a counter attack. It's an all-in play, in that usually against evenly matched opponents if it fails, then you lose the game. But it can work at the pro level, same as a cannon rush from Protoss or a 2 racks bunker push from Terran. It all comes in at around 2 minutes, if it comes later then it's not terribly strong.
