Topic: I now understand why Brits don’t like the Irish

Mr. Ireland started this discussion 2 weeks ago #135,428

Ireland was Britain’s first colony and the British controlled Ireland for 800 years.

It’s so funny to me when I hear a conservative yap about how they want to be like Japan and Ireland is terrible.

Low IQ take.

Anglejudeo elites will blast Ireland with so many foreigners "Irishness" will be diluted and destroyed.

The small nationalist groups that whine about migrant motels can't handle the change.

I know one of London's finest gays is being deployed to "coin hunt" 😉 in Dublin.

It will be a nation of faggy muslims speaking Polish by the end of it.

Also, fun fact about Ireland: before the Irish potato famine which was a result of British policies, Ireland had a peak population of 8 million people. Today a couple hundred years later, Ireland only has 5 million people, so Ireland’s population actually never recovered from British rule. But Ireland still has a higher GDP per capita than the UK and there are 80 million ethnically Irish people in the world.

It’s kinda ironic coming from the English acting like they care about preserving Irish culture considering the English are the reason why the Irish speak English and not Irish.

Ireland does have its own industries though. These include sheep, beer, and they have a monopoly on the production of botulinum neurotoxin.

It’s funny how the English say they hate the blacks because they oppressed the blacks and the blacks are poor but the English say they hate the Irish because they oppressed the Irish and still control half of Ireland but somehow Ireland is twice as rich.

I’m starting to think Angloids just be haters.

English supremacists: "How do you explain how 200 years ago we were number one? Aren’t we just better. You can’t explain why 200 years ago we were number one!"

Me: "because you haven’t been number 1 in 200 years"

Bacon’s Rebellion is the best example of this.

Nathaniel Bacon led an uprising of poor white indentured servants and both free and ensalved blacks, fighting together against the colonial elite.

Naturally it scared the planter class because it showed that the bottom of the social order could unite across racial lines against the wealthy.

When the rebellion was suppressed, Virginia’s ruling class made a calculated decision and started differentiating poor whites from Black people by giving whites small legal privileges, loosening restrictions on them, and hardening slavery into a permanent racial institution.

The message to poor whites was essentially: you may be poor, but you’re not them

origin point of American racial capitalism.

I love visiting Japan. I love the food. I wouldn’t want to live there. It’s too culturally unique and the work environment leaves people harried and weird. Astronomical rates of suicide and depression.

It's only older people really and it's because they're angry about the Troubles.

That time has passed. I like Irish people.

Tbh, Japan is culturally unique, but you do have to admit it resembles China more than it resembles anything else. I mean, just look at a Japanese temple, look at a Chinese temple, look at Japanese writing, look at Chinese writing, half their symbols are Chinese symbols.

Mr. Big Black Friday double-posted this 2 weeks ago, 2 minutes later, 15 hours after the original post[^] [v] #1,439,187

I guess Japan is stereotyped as being "weird" and I could be wrong but to me it feels like the "weird" stuff is more modern. The old traditional stuff seems like it fits in pretty well with other East Asian cultures, it doesn’t seem out of place or out of the ordinary in any way.

Mr. Big Black Friday triple-posted this 2 weeks ago, 2 minutes later, 15 hours after the original post[^] [v] #1,439,188

I almost wonder if it’s because they’re not different from other East Asian countries, but they’re different from America so when they realized Americans think of them as being super different and foreign they just capitalized on that. Because China is as non-western as Japan, but nobody thinks China is weird.
