Eating dogs is funny because people can’t really explain how it’s worse than eating a pig.

Usually they’ll just say something about intelligence, even though pigs are actually more intelligent than dogs.

1 nowhere near enough meat to make it worth the loss of utility compared to pigs
2 predator meat is toxic

Does this mean I can’t eat shrimp anymore because the utility of the meat in a shrimp is too small?

Also I don’t think point #2 is inherently true…

Like I’m not advocating for eating dogs, I’m just pointing out this stuff is a little bit arbitrary what species what cultures decide are okay to eat and are not okay to eat.

For example, bugs. Eating bugs is considered gross in western culture, but eating honey is fine. So eating bugs is gross but eating chewed up bug food they regurgitated back out of their bodies is fine because that makes sense.

It’s also a bit ridiculous because we actually do eat bugs in the west we just don’t realize we’re doing it. Have you ever looked into how they make Doritos and lipstick red? It’s made out of crushed beetles.

Predators have more parasites and toxins based on their diets. That’s why tuna has more mercury than other fish and why any idiot who eats bear meat shouldn’t be surprised when they get tapeworms and trichinosis.

Don’t fish that live near the bottom have a higher mercury content than fish that live near the surface?

Salmon and tuna are both predators but tuna has more mercury than salmon.

But both phish have more mercury than white males poo, so the point is largely moot.
