What a fucking waste of time. All deferred gratification and keeping my head down. I couldn’t be more bored. A couple of weeks ago I was “mugged.” I had a man tell me to give him my wallet. I asked “or what?” He ended up running off. If anything I felt disappointed.
I should have spent my youth differently. Nothing but caregiving and fixing others’ problems and being there and being dutiful. What a way to waste a life.
> I'm kind of like you, OP. I have zero regrets for treating people nicely, even if they didn't treat me well.
It’s not for treating people nicely. When you finally learn to set boundaries people take it as an affront and years of effort are conveniently wiped out.

Societal fabric is breaking down and the concept of honor is lost. Now you have to allign with a group or cause, and rules (social or legal) don't apply as long as you stay with that clan. It sucks. Years of treating everyone the same feels wasted for me too.
I'm siding with the hippies I guess. A dollar less in the billionaires' pockets is all I can contribute. I won't buy a computer or cellphone this year and AI can eat a dick.
