I can’t believe what I’ve forgotten. I haven’t camped in years. Friends who did moved or don’t do it. My relative who did this stuff is dead. I used to do tons of hikes and orienteering. Now I’m re-teaching myself how to read due North.
GPS has made me so lazy I struggle with some maps. It’s amazing how quickly analog skills perish.
I was making Bannock bread on the grill. I also have been doing compass hikes on trails where if I truly f-up I’m at a road or landmark. No “Into the Wild” stuff.
