That’s bullshit. All data needs to be scrubbed once a home sale is complete. FFS you pay a big fee for inspection, then they get to monetize your data?
My country solved this decades ago. Data can only be used for the purpose for which is was originally intended.
If you want to use data for a different purpose, or sell that data, you need to get the person to tick a box on a form saying that they're okay with you selling the data.
I just realised that I haven't had to consider the implications of whether or not to tick that form in maybe 10+ years.
It's not worth selling data in New Zealand. It's not worth the cost, hassle or potential negative publicity.

Wrong attitude. “If I’m not doing anything wrong what do I care?” Everyone is entitled to their privacy. If you want to monetize me, I need to consent and receive some kind of royalty.
