Because if you think about it, how did Europe become civilized? It doesn’t make any sense. The Germans were barbarians, what was special about Italy? The Romans had noodles. How did the Romans get noodles?

I mean, we do. Has anybody ever heard of an African squatting toilet? No. Why is that?
We take pride in creating our toilets.
But like seriously though, there’s one Nigerian guy I’m subscribed to on YouTube and when he went to America for the first time his only shock at American toilets is how much water there is because when he watched American movies as a kid he didn’t get how you could dunk somebody’s head in a toilet. But then when he got to New York it finally made sense. Africans have those European type toilets that are supposed to save water because Europeans think water is a finite resource you can’t create more of even though it’s not, you can make new water it’s just hydrogen and oxygen.
Meanwhile on the internet, with all due respect to China and their toilets, I’m still seeing "bring your own toilet paper" type advice about public toilets.

Also random tangent: but you know it’s possible to make rockets that aren’t bad for the environment? Hydrolox engines like the RS-25 shuttle main engines create water as exhaust. Elon Musk’s Raptor engines are methalox and this Merlin engines are kerolox (really lox/RP-1 which is just refined kerosene).
The reason why is because hydrogen has a small atomic size so it leaks easily. BUT IT’S BETTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT!

Although one of the problems with the RS-25 is it has an overly complicated design but there are more simplified hydrolox engines like the RS-68/RS-68A/RS-68B that were developed later. But the government wanted to use the RS-25 for the Artemis program because the government is the government and only the military gets unlimited funding these days so they’re reusing engines from the 1970s. Which also shows just how much humanity as a species sucks at developing the space travel technology in a timely manner. Instead we have AI slop because that’s what everybody wanted, not traveling to other planets, no we all wanted whatever this is:
