Somebody on here before was arguing that the Bishop of Rome didn’t have primacy before the great schism so the Catholic Church broke away from the Orthodox Church rather than the other way around. But I was thinking about it, in the Bible, Jesus said, "You are Peter and on this rock I build my church." Except the name Peter means rock, which kind of implies that Jesus was assigning primacy to Peter.
