South Africa is actually a good example. The blacks in South Africa saw that the Japanese were treated as honorary whites under apartheid. Once the blacks broke free from apartheid rule, instead of aligning themselves with the west to try and take after the Japanese, now they’re militarily aligning themselves with Russia, China, and Iran instead of the United States.
