The etymology of Niger and Nigeria is completely unrelated to the etymology of the n word. The n word comes from the Spanish word negro meaning black which comes from the Latin word niger meaning black. However, Niger and Nigeria are both named after the Niger River. The Niger River is believed to be named after Tuareg phrase gărăw-n-gărăwăn meaning "river of rivers." Despite Niger and niger being spelled the same way, they do not have the same pronunciation. Niger in English is pronounced as it is spelled, but in Latin, the I sounds like an E. They are in fact two different unrelated words with different unrelated origins.

Also fun fact Tuareg people are not Black, they’re Berbers, which are considered to be indigenous to North Africa and are not considered Arab. They make up 11% of the population of Niger and 0.015% of the population of Nigeria because Nigeria is the blackest country to ever exist and they don’t have any minorities that aren’t Black, all of them combined are less than 1% of the population of that country. But Nigeria is also one of the most diverse countries on the planet because there are a lot of different kinds of Black people in Nigeria, so it is considered to be one of the most linguistically and ethnically diverse countries in the world.

Africa: a bunch of people who look sorta the same but are absolutely not the same at all on any level, genetic, cultural, or linguistic because humans have lived there for millions of years.
