Fun fact about Ireland: since claiming their independence, they’ve never had a single draft ever. Ireland is a peaceful country that never went to war with its only neighbor, Britain. The Irish are the most peace loving people in the entire world and that’s why the Irish government has never had to call up Irish men to fight, because after a long night of drinking, they’ll get together, get to know each other, buy some uniforms, and cross the border on their own. That’s just the way it is with the IRA!

And crossing this border is entirely legal, because after years and years of the British government saying they would never negotiate with terrorists, they got tired of getting blown up, and they done did it and went and negotiated with some terrorists to let Irish people cross the border whenever they feel like it with no border checkpoints at all.
