The only reason why you think that is because you were educated in the west so you learned about western history. If you were Middle Eastern or Asian you’d have a different perspective on that. The numbers we use 0 through 9 were invented by Indians, but we call them Arabic numerals because they were transferred to the west by Arabs. Arabs also invented algebra. Western empires wouldn’t have been possible without gunpowder which was invented by the Chinese. The Chinese also had various innovations in sailing and navigation, the compass for example. It’s really not accurate to say Europe did everything. Europeans did stuff, but a lot of the foundational discoveries and technologies that European societies were built on were created by non-Europeans.

Think about it this way: Europeans invented calculus. Have you ever tried doing calculus with Roman numerals before?

Surely you can see the problem here. Without Arabs and Indians whites couldn’t have invented calculus. If you really look into things deeper than the surface level western propaganda white washed version of history you were taught, you’ll find this is true for many things. Take the American constitution for example. Paper was independently invented twice, in China and Egypt. The American constitution is written on paper. The fist written laws and the first agricultural societies developed in the Middle East. If you look it, the ancient Egyptians were as ancient to the ancient Romans as the ancient Roman are to us. The last population of wooly mammoths went extinct on Wrangel Island in Russia more recently than the pyramids were built.
The truth is that there are two events which explain the dominance of Europe: the columbian exchange and the scramble for Africa. The first event was an accident, Europeans landed in the Americas before Asians or Africans did. Then they got lucky and it turned out that Europeans had diseases that were more deadly to the Native American than the other way around which is mostly due to differences in lifestyle. European lived in unsanitary dense urban conditions while Native American didn’t. Then the scramble for Africa was possible due to the wealth Europeans had accumulated from their American colonies and because of gunpowder.
The truth is that Europeans aren’t really special, they just got lucky in 1492 and everything else follows directly from that.

It’s also the case that Europe did not always dominate and it will not always dominate. Spain used to be under Islamic rule. North Africans had colonies in Europe hundreds of years before Europeans ever had colonies in Africa, during the Middle Ages, Arab societies were far more literate and scientifically advanced and militarily competent than Europeans were. What changed is the Industrial Revolution which really took off in the 1800s. Africa didn’t industrialize because Europeans had taken control of it and were forcing Africans to export their raw materials to feed European factories.
Japan did industrialize because they were isolated enough that Europeans didn’t colonize Japan the same way they did in India and in parts of China, but the Japanese recognized that if they didn’t industrialize they’d be in danger of being invaded by western powers. Unfortunately, Japan kinda screwed that up with the decisions they made once they industrialized.
There is a direct inverse correlation between which non-western countries were colonized and how developed they are.
Think about it: Japan wasn’t colonized, China was colonized a little bit, India was completely controlled by the British, and Africans were enslaved. If you had to rank them by how developed they are, you find they’re developing in exactly the same order. India isn’t worse than China, and Africa isn’t worse than India. India will actually surpass China, and then Africa will surpass India.

Even technology, computers for example. White people will claim they invented computers because a lot of the work that goes into writing software and designing hardware happens in the United States. Think about an iPhone for example:
- They’re designed in California.
- They’re assembled in Shanghai by Foxconn which is a Taiwanese company.
- The chips are produced by TSMC in Taiwan.
- The screens are made by Samsung in Korea.
- The lithium ion batteries in an iPhone use cobalt. The Democratic Republic of the Congo basically has a monopoly on the mining of cobalt.
So you see, there’s this problem where, without Africa and Asia, there wouldn’t be any iPhones.
- They’re designed in California.

It is true that Apple iPhones are designed in the United States because Apple is an American company. Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, OnePlus, …most smartphone brands aren’t American.
