Topic: 15-20 million Jews, but not a single movie where there's a Jewish bigot

In contrast, there's well over 300.000 Icelanders but a handful of films where Icelanders are indeed bigoted. Nobody worries what that says about Icelanders, as it's generally understood that bigots are in every group there is
Nha I don't buy that. I think it's more like cultural lagging. After the second world war, it would be absurd to make such a movie, where there's a Jewish civilian who's biggoted against none Jews. It would be like america making a movie about some evil black guy after the slavery ended, it's a very imperfect comparison but I think the point is clear.
I gotta admit that I was surprised by the passion of the Christ, and that I have no idea about what the merchant of Venice is, a old play with a Jewish villain?
Regardless, both of these stories are very old, one is a religious story, another one is a old play... That is antisemitic?
Regardless, not really a movie about here and now, about people as they are in the modern world.
It's kinda a laughable example though, from what I read, the most common ending is "Shylock" who's a Jewish lender, converting to Christianity? And in the 2004 film I think there's supposed to be rampant antisemitism? So who's really being portrayed as a bigot?
Meanwhile it's hardly about people in the today world, just some weird old (very old play) but I'll watch the movie.
