The term itself was a shock to me nevertheless, a ethnic group just putting everyone in the same box, not respecting what none Jewish people want to be called? Honestly it gives me the heebie-jeebies.
Heh that's already a term for something that's used to shutdown the mere discussion of Jewish bigots. I think the Jewish people should do away with the term, it's obviously wrong to use it. Imagine if whites had their own terms for none white people, it doesn't belong in a egalitarian society.
