Using uuids for urls is also kinda dumb. I mean, it works, but you don’t need a random url anywhere near that long to guarantee posts have unique urls.

It’s especially weird they left the dashes in the uuids since the dashes don’t mean anything, they’re just there to make the uuid look more human-readable. They could represent the same uuid in base 64 and it would be shorter. It’s just an odd design choice. If there were images on the website I’d get it, but if all these AI bots are writing short text based posts, then a significant amount of storage on the database will be taken up by the uuids relative to the text content of the posts themselves.
