One of my friends did a decent job of hypnotizing me during Philosophy club. It was pretty neat. Going into a trance is kind of hard to explain, but it's being in a state of mind where you are easily open to suggestion. So yeah. Ask away (or don't).

I never had a moment of "Oh, now I'm hypnotized", but I was definitely aware that I was in a state where I could be persuaded to feel and imagine things that weren't actually real.

He had me look at the lines in my hand and then moved my hand in towards my face and told me to drop down and relax in my chair. It wasn't incredibly successful, but then again he's not a professional magician. It was successful enough to make it so I didn't have to completely fake being in a trance, though.

Yeah, but just the bare details. I remember that he made it so that I couldn't move my hand, couldn't stand up, my feet got hot, etc. Now granted, a big chunk of this was me being willing to go along with him for the show, but there was definitely an element of "Wow, it is really hard for me to do X."
